August 17th to September the 1st

Golden Abot starts his assault against the Empire – The Prince of Silence returns from Xibalba to confront Abot’s Reformist Army – War is here soldier, the Outworld needs you!

EVENT STARTS: AUGUST 17TH AT 15:00 HRS (BRO TIME)

EVENT ENDS: SEPTEMBER 1ST AT 15:00 HRS (BRO TIME)

This event will be held in the Classic, War of Gods S1 and War of Gods S2 Servers.

With the support of the powerful armies gathered in the Fields of Mars, Golden Abot’s Reformist Army is ready to mobilize against the Unliving Empire to put an end to the iron fist reign of the Unliving Empire over the Realm. In the past weeks zealous efforts from both leaders have been driven to recruit all the free warriors of the Realm to fight the decisive battle for the control of the Outworld!

The wheels of war are now stirring and the two armies have to defend their tactical positions in all the regions of the Realm to win the upper hand in the conflict.

Everyone has a chance to win great prizes.  Join us this month on a special event that will shake the very foundations of the Outworld!

 

August Special Event Rules

1.      Recruitment

This month we will play the clash of two titanic forces: the Unliving Imperial Army, commanded by the Prince of Silence, and the Abot Reformist Movement, led by the Master Resourcer Golden Abot.

When you login to BRO next Tuesday August 17th in the Classic, WoG S1 or WoG S2 servers, you will have a request from one of the two Army leaders, the invitations are determined by system, and are not subject to change. Every player will receive only one request from an army, and must play the event supporting their side.

Once the Event starts, all the Player Factions and Alliances will be temporary disabled, and there will be only 2 Factions in game: the [UIA] Unliving Imperial Army and the [ARM] Abot Reformist Movement. Both factions will be controlled by the Staff through the Army Commanders (Abot and the Prince of Silence). When this event comes to an end, all Player Factions will be restored as they were before the event.

Important Note: Before we begin this event, all the information regarding factions, lands and  buildings will be backed up, and the 2 Armies will be the only factions in the whole game World. After the event is finished, we will restore the world as it was before the event started.

2.      Lands and Cities

At the beginning of the Event, each Army will be given control of 4 lands called Forts one in each one of the following regions: The Realm, Northern Lands, Westerlands and the Dimensional Fogs.

  • Natural frontiers will be placed in Shokan Lake to connect the Realm with the North Pole and the Westerlands
  • Every Land will start with a Main Building (Promethean for ARM Forts, and Unliving for UIA Forts).
  • Capitals will not be allowed in the Garrisons

3.     Army Challenges

Once the event has started, there will be Army challenges every 48 hrs. These challenges will define which Army wins the war, and the global prize for the winner Army will depend on the overall performance of the armies in each challenge.

1: Cut the Enemy Resources!

Starts: August 18th, 17:00 Hrs.

Ends: August 20th, 13:00 Hrs.

Armies must defend their crystals from enemy miners, and organize raids to steal crystals from the enemy forts!

2: Hold your Ground!

Starts: August 20th, 17:00 Hrs.

Ends: August 22st, 17:00 Hrs.

Armies must claim the enemy forts and defend their own forts against enemy raids.

3: Build The Base

Starts: August 22st, 17:00 Hrs.

Ends: August 24rd, 15:00 Hrs.

Build a set number of buildings  of level 21. Both armies can win this challenge simultaneously.

4: Cadet Training!

Starts: August 24th, 17:00 Hrs.

Ends: August 26th, 15:00 Hrs.

Send 30 Golem Weapons (15 Golem Gauntlets and 15 Golem Howitzers) of “Excellent” quality or better to the Army Commander. Both armies can win this challenge simultaneously.

5: Armory Weapons

Starts: August 26th, 17:00 Hrs.

Ends: August 28th, 15:00 Hrs.

Send 100 Weapon Cards (from the list) of “Excellent” quality or better to the Army Commander. Both armies can win this challenge simultaneously.

6: Kill Them All!

Starts: August 28th, 17:00 Hrs.

Ends: August 30th, 15:00 Hrs.

Gather the largest possible number of online enemy kills.

Final Challenge: Defeat the Enemy Commander!

Starts: August 30th, 17:00 Hrs.

Ends: September 1st, 15:00 Hrs.

Kill the Enemy Commander and protect your Leader to Win the War!

 

 

Challenge 1: Cut the Enemy Resources!

Challenge Duration:

Starts: August 18th, 17:00 Hrs.

Ends: August 20th, 13:00 Hrs.

Description

During this challenge, all the soldiers of the Army must do their best to gather as many crystals as possible from the Enemy forts. Armies must defend their crystals from enemy miners, and organize raids to steal crystals from the enemy forts!

Win Condition

The Army who sells to their leader the greatest amount of crystals from the enemy forts when the timer comes to an end will win the Challenge.

NOTE: Sell all your crystals from Enemy forts to your leaders, located in the Imperial Hub and the Reformists Hub. Kill enemy miners to avoid them getting the crystal to their leaders.

NOTE 2: If you gain control of an enemy fort and mine crystals from there THEY WILL COUNT for winning the challenge. Factions must defend their forts to prevent this.

Challenge 2: Hold your Ground!

Challenge Duration:

Description

Now the Armies must hold their ground against enemy raids. Soldiers must strive to claim the enemy forts in the 4 regions and defend their own forts against enemy raids.

Win Condition

The Army with most SUCCESFUL CLAIMS in the 4 Enemy Forts when the timer comes to an end will win the Challenge.

UIA Have to claim the 4 Reformist Forts, located at: Port Ironhide, Red Bridge, Defiled Heartlands (N) and the Fog Reformist Fort.

ARM Have to claim the 4 Imperial Forts, located at: Ashen Waste, Frozen Waterfall, Defiled Heartlands (S) and the Fog Imperial Fort.

Challenge 3: Build The Base!

Challenge Duration:

Starts: August 22st, 17:00 Hrs.

Ends: August 24rd, 15:00 Hrs.

Description

Next the Army must deploy buildings to defend their lands. The objective is to deploy a set number of buildings of level 21 each (in addition to the Main Building).

The number of buildings to be deployed will be different in each server, updated information about it will be posted later this week.

Win Condition

The Army with the greatest ammount of Building Levels Deployed and Active will win the Match.

Considerations:

 - All Buildings in any Fort-type land (Imperial or Reformist) under the Faction control when the challenge timer ends will be considered. Buildings in lands under the enemy faction's control will not be considered

 - The amount of Building Levels in the Forts will be accounted by adding the levels of all the buildings in the land under the control of the faction when the challenge timers ends

 - The faction with the largest number of Building Levels when the timer comes to an end will win the Challenge.

IMPORTANT: ALL BUILDINGS WILL BE DELETED FROM ALL THE FORTS AND THE LANDS WILL RETURN TO THEIR ORIGINAL OWNERS WHEN THE CHALLENGE TIMER STARTS.

Challenge 4: Cadet Training!

Challenge Duration:

Starts: August 24th, 17:00 Hrs.

Ends: August 26th, 15:00 Hrs.

Description

The Cadets of the Army must be trained in basic combat tactics and equipped with quality weapons for them to be effective in combat.  To win this challenge,  soldiers under level 10 will have to storm the Golem Master Workshop, kill Emmett the Golem as many times as possible, craft 15 Golem Howitzer and 15 Golem Gauntlet cards of “Excellent” quality or better, and send them to their Commander before the timer ends. Veteran soldiers can use this challenge to rest while the new recruits do the hard work.

Win Condition

Any army who have sent their 30 Golem Weapons (15 Golem Gauntlets and 15 Golem Howitzers) of “Excellent” quality or better to the Army Commander when the timer ends will win this challenge (both armies can win this challenge simultaneously). Only characters under level 10 will be able to complete the quest to obtain the required Golem Weapons.

IMPORTANT: The idea of this quest is for the cadets to work through the duration of the challenge to get the required cards. Therefore all Trophies will be removed from all the players when this challenge starts and will be restored when the Challenge 6 starts.

Now is the time for the enemy to feel your wrath! All soldiers must get into the battlefield and kill as many enemy soldiers as possible, and fend off any enemy raids to their forts.

The Army who gather the largest number of online enemy kills when the challenge timer ends will win the challenge.

Description

This is the final showdown! The Army commanders will fight side by side with their troops, and they must be stopped! Kill the enemy commander as many times as possible, victory relies on this!

Win Condition

Considerations:

 - Golden Abot and the Prince of Silence will be valid targets in the CREATURES window.

 - The Commanders will be automatically protected by all the players of their same faction in the land (as if they were a constant Bodyguard effect on them)

 - Commanders will react to ALL enemy attacks automatically

 - Commanders will NOT heal themselves automatically

 - The Commanders will move every Hour to one of their 4 Forts at random

 

The Army who kills the enemy Commander more times during this challenge timer will win the challenge and his Army will be declared the winner of the Event!

 

Top Performers Prizes

The Commanders will drop a Legendary weapon when slain, every player who kills one commander will receive one of these weapons.

Additional Notes

 

About Recruitment

Each player will only receive ONE invitation from one Faction Leader and will have to play the event supporting the army who recruited them. Recruitment is defined by the System. Changing sides will not be possible.

 

Player who do not wish to participate

Players will have the option NOT to be part of the war, these players will remain factionless for the duration of the Event and will not be eligible for any Event prizes.

 

YOUR FEEDBACK IS IMPORTANT! We still have time to take into account your comments and suggestions before the event begins. Please leave your question or comments in this post or open a ticket with your observations, we will read them all and consider them.

    The Leaders will be automatically protected by all the players of his faction in the land he currently is, like if all his faction had a bodyguard card over him

What happens to players who log on and then decide to either not play as they will be unable to help their friends who are on the other side. Or those who log in and then refuse to help their faction.

For those who decide to not join a faction and even though they are unable to win a prize will the have the ability to influence the battle.

Will the engineers be allowed to build all buildings to level 21 regardless of race? That way a Mythic player can build a Prom or Unliving Complex building including Main Building. Or will the Mythic players be restricted.

As alot of these events will involve the use of pp. Will BRO restrict the use of pp during this Quest are will BRO provide all players taking part a set amount of pp so that those who are non donaters have some chance of competing.

I hate the part of not being able to choose the side - its a "our way or the highway" kind of choice and i'll prolly choose the highway.

But before i'll choose i would like to hear how the system will decide to witch faction we will get the invite.

BRO, with regards to challenge 3,4 and 5: no Ultimate cards should be allowed.

Also, you should penalize players who reset to level 10 during the event. Or if possible disable the Energy Reset option.

When a player joins one of the 2 faction, they get one free reset card which they have until the first event begins to use, after that players are not allowed to reset

The system will balance invitations to each army based on a power level formula in order to have 2 teams that are as evenly matched as possible.

Yes this event is "BRO's way or the highway". We hope you all like the idea and take part in the event.

Players that choose NOT to join the event will be free to do what they want, but they will have no faction and will not be eligible for any prizes.

Besides changes to faction. All else will be taken "as is" and there will be no special rules or restrictions of any kind.

We are publishing event rules in advance so that everyone can think of a wining strategy ahead of time.

Remember you do not know who will end up in your faction...

I really like this idea ,the player should be able to team up with any one,yesterday's enemy could be todays brother in arm ,this challenge is challenging our abilities to play in teams and I have no objection on any thing in it

I just have few questions? if we are going to make buildings ,staff should make sure all players in each faction are able to use buildings
also there should be ranks for each faction or at least a leadership circle that is allowed to make certain decisions like removing a building
a team without a leadership cant go on in right direction
also you may take in consideration the time zone of players when you divide the factions to make sure both factions are active around the clock

as for prizes ,I think this is a joke if prizes will be only PP because staff knows very well how much we spend PPs in these challenges and these prizes are a partial refund only

@Wolverine, you understand the idea of the event perfectly :)

Individual prizes will be good and have not being posted, the PP prize is a general prize for the hole faction. Which we think will be attractive to all but the most veteran players.

about faction leadership and permissions, we still have some internal debate. All in the faction can use buildings, but we have to figure out how to define "commanders" for each faction, It will probably be a volunteer-vote mechanic. Where some players offer to be commanders and the rest of the faction makes a vote. But yes, we do need commanders to manage the faction.

I think that this looks like it could be a very good event. But I think perhaps you might want to look at the PP award amounts for the winning team. Especially with the changes on the game many people, especially the non-donators, and newer players have a hard time with all the recent PP heavy needs on the game, PP is harder and harder to get for a lot of people, and I think a better PP reward on this event would be very well appreciated by players and keep more people active and playing.

great quest challenges. great concept.

but should not be a cannon quest, it should have no impact on the future of the game and its story, it should be like the death matches of last season, utterly fun , totally pointless.

As it is a cannon quest you're mocking the hard work factions have put in over a season to try and push the story line the way they wish it to go.{the point of the game no?aside from the obvious of having fun :P}

/And to all of the players thinking I only say this because I am part of the faction that won the past two quests on classic you are very very wrong, everyone that took part in the past quests supporting EVE or the Abot etc, your choice at the time, your ability to choose is now being mocked regardless of the outcome of the past quests/

You said classic would be a quest based server, that pvp would not define it, and now you have taken our free will out of the main structure of the game, so now even the players will not define it, but you will.

I'm disturbed that you thought this was an OK thing to do.

It sounds like you guys at BRO are trying to make a quest that is for all but if you let the vets reset and or use weapons the lower lv players don,t have then BRO failed . To allow resets is to take away from the little guy. The little guys in the game need a quest in this event that only they can do to fell like they have part in it or what is the point. The other parts of the event they well fell like they are to weak to take part in. And to allow PP,s to be used in the event other than to heal make it a donators event. So if you don,t change some things you guys at BRO failed poorly in your attempt to make this event fun for all.

It's be nice if we have some form of Live Storytelling between each event so we know how each event links up.

This is a great idea however, it is confusing how this follows on from the last event especially when Abot supposedly already have TEC as his supporter (unless TEC decided not to)

These events just seem to be random without some storytelling linking them together

We did support Abot, that's why he's here. Twice in both quests. :S

The continuity is painful, lacking all plot, which is one of the great things about BRO, the story.

I dont understand any of the event and think it is funny how there seems to be loopholes in each one of the events and how the other side seems to know these loopholes...

But i guess that is part of the game?

BRO i dont think challenge 5 is very fitting. I dont see it getting done in two days, mainly because of the regular crystal weapons needed, if we were allowed to start on it from the beginning then that would have been different. I dont think anyone on S1 has a regular crystal weapon, and only a handful of us have master weapons.

Can you perhaps change the regular part into apprentice? or make it where whatever faction brings in the most weapons wins the challenge?
